Finnegan, Begin Again!

Nothing’s quite as sure as change…and apparently it was time for a Crew Change.

Longtime mandoliner, button boxer par excellence, and sometime fiddler David Clark took his pay and went ashore first.    Then dualling fiddler duo Beth Harmon decided to concentrate her very limited time on her career and on the Anglo Concertina, and Camilla Bicknell packed her hammock in her seabag and went ashore as well.    Whistler in Chief and Flutey Officer First Class Lisa Danforth has also gone ashore in order to spend more time on business and increasing family responsibilities.  We’ll all keep playing together and seeing each other at the local Seissiuns.

The new crew has begun signing on board…Fiddler Caleb Mote of Buena Vista joins us whenever his civilian and Marine Corps Reserve careers permit, and Katy Adelson of international YouTube fame has also joined the Fiddling Division on board.    Both are powerful wizards with the fiddle.   John Lynskey started playing Accordion at about age 5, and comes from a family of Irish Musicians who are actually Irish and living in Ireland, except for John…    Tony Branch, A.K.A. Charles, lives in Denver and comes to us by way of the Irish music scene in Texas and a couple of excellent bands.

Of the original crew, Jennifer Forest still sings, flutes, whistles, and drums for us with soul and velocity.     Then there’s me, the Rareouldtimer…I’ve survived a number of crew changes, always found amongst the wreckage, clinging for dear life to a floating guitar case.

Our baptism by fire was the delightful Kilts and Clovers annual social/fundraser for the Denver Botanic Gardens, and a very good time was had by band and audience alike.
